KaiMail offers free upgraded accounts to open source project maintainers and community organizers. If you are running a community, user group, or open source project on a volunteer basis, you can request an upgrade from your free KaiMail account to a paid plan at no cost.

Who is this for?

This is for people who organize communities and open source projects that operate on volunteer effort and limited budgets. User groups, language communities, open source libraries, regional conferences, hackerspaces, basically any project where the people doing the work are not getting paid to do it.

If your project is commercially backed or funded by a company, we would appreciate it if you signed up for a regular paid plan instead. This programme is for the groups that count every dollar.

What do you get?

An upgraded KaiMail account gives you access to paid plan features at no charge. This includes SMTP sending (so replies come from [email protected], not someone's personal Gmail), webhook features, additional aliases and higher email volume if you require.

Before you apply

1. Register for a free KaiMail account first. You need an existing account for us to upgrade. If you have not signed up yet, do that at kaimail.net before filling out this form.
2. Have your domain ready. You should already own the domain you plan to use, or at least have a plan to acquire one. We cannot provide domains, only the email forwarding and sending on top of them.
3. Be prepared to verify your community. We will check that the project or community exists and is actively maintained. A website, GitHub repository, or even an active social media presence is enough.

How it works

Fill out the form. We will review your request and get back to you within a few working days. If approved, we will upgrade your existing free account. No migrations, no new signups, just the same account with more features turned on.
